Steve Cadigan said something in our conversation that has stuck with me:
“Building trust is the goal, not working hard.”
That does not mean work ethic stops mattering. It means work ethic is not the final measure.
Hard work matters because it creates reliability. Reliability creates trust. Trust creates opportunity.
At senior levels, people are not just hiring effort. They are hiring judgment they can trust.
