I’ve spent 22 years in building materials and construction, building teams and businesses in places where there was no playbook and no safety net. That work taught me one thing above all: what lasts gets built long before the results show up, and almost everyone is too busy chasing the quarter to build it.
It also taught me to read a room, see the pattern, and name the thing most people at the table are thinking but nobody is saying.
Now I write about what I’ve learned and what I’m still figuring out. The long game. The teams that win it, and why the team is the only thing that compounds. Decision quality, trust, and what it actually looks like to lead when the template doesn’t fit. I also host McStay on What Matters, a podcast where I talk with experienced operators about how they think through the hard calls, not the polished version.
